FAQs

What credit score do I need for a credit card?

Most banks look for 700 or above for entry-level cards and 750+ for premium cards. With no credit history, a card against a fixed deposit is a good start.

Does applying affect my credit score?

Checking eligibility on CreditSaathi does not. A formal application to a bank usually triggers a hard enquiry, and several in a short time can lower your score.

What is MITC?

The Most Important Terms and Conditions: joining and annual fees, interest on unpaid balances, late payment charges and other fees. Read it before you accept a card.

Can a bank issue a card I didn't ask for?

No. RBI prohibits unsolicited cards. A new card must be activated with your OTP-based consent within 30 days, or it is closed at no cost to you.

Who issues the card and handles my account?

The partner bank. CreditSaathi only helps you find and apply for a suitable card; billing, rewards and service are handled by the bank.

Disclaimer: CreditSaathi is not a card issuer. Cards are issued by partner banks at their sole discretion, subject to their eligibility, KYC and terms. We may receive a commission from the bank if a card is issued; this does not change any fee you pay.
